The global economy can be confusing and terrifying. Mr. Eanfar’s work is based on over 20 years of unique experience in economics, financial technologies, blockchain/cryptocurrency development, artificial intelligence, and military and government affairs. Three key points in the book deal with issues of defining value, following a vision, and managing innovation. Value: Mr.

Eanfar notes that money is not value itself; it represents value. Rather than focusing on money alone, he advises organizations to focus on theway value flows through their stakeholder ecosystems, which benefits all parties in the long run. Innovation: Artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and other technological innovations can be used for good or ill. Mr. Eanfar dedicates a chapter of the book to the impact of artificial intelligence [AI] on government and the economy.

ยป Platform Capitalism Reading Group at the University of Cambridge The Sociological Imagination

In recent discussions of capitalist transformation, the notion of the ‘platform’ has come to play a prominent role in conceptualising our present circumstances and imagining our potential futures. There are many criticisms which can be raised of the platform metaphor, however we believe it provides a useful hook through which to make sense of how social, economic, political, cultural and technological factors are collectively contributing to systemic transformation. This intensive five week reading group explores platform capitalism, the growing focus on the platform and its implications for sociological and educational research. The meetings will take place from 4pm to 6pm in DMB 2S5 in The Donald McIntyre Building in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. This is a fifteen minutes walk from Cambridge train station and we welcome all attendees.

Various models are surveyed with which the attempt is made to combine the two perspectives while respecting the distinctiveness of each. One such model proposed by St. Augustine, the coiner of the term ‘secular,’ relies on his distinction of the two cities, the City of God, and the Earthly City. Brian T. Trainor’s more nuanced interpretation of Augustine shows how a religious accommodation of the secular is enabled by the distinction between the secular domain as oriented to and open to the sacred, and the secular domain when it is opposed to and turned away from the sacred.

This proposal is explored for its usefulness, for Muslims as well as Christians, in accepting the positive aspects of autonomous secularity without having to endorse the aspects contrary to a faith commitment.

What is a simile for compassionate

Compassionate silence very well may be the truest form of compassion we can muster. The minute we open our mouths we run the risk of judgment and scorn, if not implicitly so then very possibly run the risk of what we say being inferred as judgment or scorn. Jane Austen, in Pride and Prejudice use the phrase at least twice to describe Darcy’s compassionate silence for Elizabeth and the new age meditations of manifestation it is compassionate silence that is listed as the very first step to manifesting ones dreams. As brutal and uncaring as the universe can seem, indeed its steady march towards total destruction or endless expansion of coldness and darkness would make it seem as a brutal place and yet surely the universe must be compassionate for it is truly silent on our pain and suffering.

Rand Paul’s smackdown of Bernie Sanders is frickin’ fantastic

You look at a country like Venezuela, with great resources and an utter disaster where people can’t eat, devolving into violence. I think it’s important that we do have a debate ultimately in our country between socialism and communism and America and capitalism. Sen. Rand Paul’s smackdown of Sanders’ empty, predictable rhetoric on capitalism and America was an immediate hit on social media. RandPaul YES!

Thank you for your explanation of American compassion. No word yet on how Bernie Sanders is nursing his wounds.
